We made a quick stop by the house today and found that the foundation is completed and they now have the basement egress window cut out and the window surround is also set up. The basement hasn't been poured yet, but hopefully they can get that done either tomorrow or next week. I probably won't have many updates since we have Christmas and New Years coming up, but I'm hoping and praying they'll start framing soon. Then it'll really take shape and look like a house instead of just some cement in the ground.

Day 6 update
We visited our future home site on Saturday afternoon so we could get some good day time progress pictures and they had recently delivered the forms. They obviously aren't up or anything, but it gives us hope that the foundation will get poured this week.
This is the view from our yard looking over the neighborhood.
I probably won't have updates this often, but we were excited that they are started last week. Hopefully this week they'll get the foundation completed and soon after that they'll get it framed.

Day 4 Update
Liz and I were able to swing by our future home today and snap a couple pictures before it was totally dark out. They obviously have the hole dug, but it looks like they are working on getting the groundwork laid out and also it looks like the running the power and plumbing in. Due to the rain yesterday, it looks like we have a bit of a swamp going on now. We plan on going out there on Saturday to take some full daylight pictures so hopefully I'll have more updates then! Also, Liz and I figured out our exterior colors and our interior wall colors this week and we are meeting with the flooring guy this weekend! hopefully we'll have all the little details figured out soon

The Future Dressen Residence!
Ever since Liz and I got engaged, I knew I wanted to buy a house. This year I sold my car and it seemed like our dream was going to come to a reality. We started talking to a realtor and began the search. We found a house we liked pretty soon after we started looking, so we put in an offer and waited anxiously to hear back. We heard back the next day to find out that they not only did not accept our offer, but they decided to take the house off the market altogether! Needless to say, we were pretty dissappointed and definitely bummed. In all of it, I knew God had a better plan for us and I relied fully on that. I originally thought it'd be best to take a break from looking and just chill for a while, but I kept looking and I found a house that I really liked. I showed it to Liz and that same day I was on the phone with our realtor to see if we could check it out. Now the problem was, this house didn't exist yet. It was just a bare lot at this point. So we decided to just build it. It was everything we wanted and we could make it our own from day 1. We wouldn't have to fix anything, repaint anything or do any remodelling. Though the initial negotiation was a little stressful we made it through and now our house has begun!
December 12th will be what I call " day 1" of the build since they actually dug the hole yesterday. I wish I had pictures of that progress, but it was dark last night when we went to see it. Here are pictures of what it started out as and a picture of what it will look like, except the colors will be slightly different.
Stay tuned for more updates in the future. I'll try to get pictures as progress is made. Follow along as our home takes shape!

A Slice of Heaven
Last night I went the Winterjam concert series and to put it into one word would be Heavenly! As I stood there last night and sang along and soaked it all in, I thought to myself. If this is what heaven is going to be like, I can't wait! There were 11,000 in attendance last night which was amazing, but could you imagine praising God with every Christian that ever lived and all of God's angel's as well? It will be nothing short of awesome. Millions upon millions of people singing praise to God. How amazing will that be! I just wanted to write a quick note, because I just couldn't help but think about how great heaven will be!
